Fiji Water Girl Generates Billion Social Impressions
Kelleth Cuthbert AKA "#FijiWaterGirl" was named the unofficial winner at the 2019 Golden Globes on January 6th. Managing to photobomb almost every photo on the red carpet, the Toronto based model managed to generate over 1 billion social media impressions for Fiji.
“At this year’s Golden Globes, our objective was the same, but with such compelling photos, the social media world took notice and ran with it," said vice-president of marketing and e-commerce Clarence Chia.
While Fiji did hire a professional photographer to snap the images that would later go viral, Chia explained that the images were not planned and that Cuthbert was just being natural. Fiji has not announced if whether or not the promotion lead to immediate new sales or commercial uptick, but the brand did say they had surpassed 1 billion social media impressions.
